News Update: Killer Whale Attack at Florida Sea World leaves trainer dead

  • sandien29 posted: 25 Feb at 12:28 pm

I have no symphathy for people that get killed when they keep wild animals cooped up where they shouldn’t be, it’s called a killer whale for a reason, but some people will do anything to make money. Poor whale.

seaworld is owned by wall street bankers.

agreed poor whale locked up in a pool

  • DiamondsGlow87 posted: 25 Feb at 8:40 pm

I agree with this. Working with wild animals there is always a risk of being hurt because wild animals even if born in captivity can turn at anytime and this same whale has killed twice before. This trainer was aware the whale killed before and so was seaworld but she chose to work with it and seaworld chose to keep it. It was a accident waiting to happen

  • kakoonato posted: 26 Feb at 7:17 pm

i was thinking the same lolol

  • jonDgr8 posted: 26 Feb at 8:33 pm

..one day the the whales have a “dicusion’ (which they do have..btw) conclude that captivity is not good…some newcomer to the tank ,fresh from the oceans’ freedom
and expance, told them that there is a better (that may be contested) and bigger ocean out there! (Don’t forget …mammals do think and communicate and act inteligently)…it may be the begginning of a ‘Planet of the Whales’ takeover plan!!!(lol)…
all that bs aside,… RIP Dawn!

  • soccerstar037 posted: 26 Feb at 10:31 pm

what are they gunna do with the whale??

  • IsraeliFighter posted: 27 Feb at 1:23 am

My sympthay lies with the whale and NOT the trainer. I condem sea world for acts of brutality against all animals held of captivity. I condem all people who pay to watch these shows and who should be shot for their ignorance.

@jonDgr8 You might want to get a clue. Seaworld hasn’t captured an animal since 1991. All the whales have been raised in captivity, as a matter of fact the whale that killed her is the largest male they have and has about 13 children!

  • bbg5000 posted: 27 Feb at 1:15 pm

@tedansley What difference does it make if Seaworld catches wild animals or not? Tilikum, the orca that killed this trainer, was caught in the wild. Katina, Tilikum, Kasatka, Kandu V, Corky, Kanduke are some of SeaWorld’s notable living orca’s that were caught in the wild.

Gudrun and Shamu are two SeaWorld orca’s, caught in the wild, that have passed away.

‘To deny liberty to a wild animal involves the diminishing of that animal’s life. It is an
inherent characteristic of wild things to be free.. in almost all cases, the denial of this
inherent characteristic involves stress, frustration, anxiety and even aggression.’
